The poems and letters here are from those of us who loved and were loved by Fernan R. Covington (as she liked to write it). She touched our lives with so much love and caring that she could only have been a "Gift" from GOD!

We LOVE you and miss you Fernan!

FERNAN, MY LOVE

Fernan, my beautiful, loving wife.
My love, my world, my life.

No longer can I kiss your sweet lips,
Or hold you in my arms.
Hear your laughter, see your smile,
Or marvel at your charms.

You had a very special way,
With everyone you met.
For those of us who really knew you,
It was a blessing we'll NEVER forget.

I know you're with God now,
And your pain and suffering is no more.
But, oh how I wish I could see your pretty face,
Everytime I come home and open the door.

No one knows the emptiness I feel,
Because words cannot explain.
My best friend, my lover, my wife.
I can't love that way again.

You showed me how to love,
By the way that you loved me.
I could never be as good a husband,
As the wife you were to me!

If I could give you all the love in the world,
It would still not be enough.
Because you brought so much love,
To the hearts of everyone you touched!

Fernan, my beautiful, loving wife.
My love, my world, my life.
I will ALWAYS LOVE YOU Fernan Renae Covington.
ALWAYS!

- Your loving husband, Julius

NAN, YOU TAUGHT ME SO MUCH

Nan, you taught me so much...

You taught me LOVE by the way you loved.
So hard and true.

You taught me PATIENCE.
A lesson so long in teaching!

You taught me FORGIVENESS.
So many times I watched as you forgave
everyone you loved,especially me for all
the transgressions against you - big and small.

You taught me to be MELLOW.
Like PATIENCE, it took a while for me to learn.

We grew up together, and learned from each other,
but everything about me that really matters came
because of my time with you...

Nan, you taught me so much...

But when you left, there was one lesson you could
not teach me...

How do I live without you?

I guess that's a lesson that GOD will have to teach!

I LOVE YOU Fernan Renae Covington!

Forever your Soulmate!

To My Mommy:

Every moment that you were near me;

Are moments that I treasure and hold very dear to me.

I miss your smile and your kind words of advice;

Just thinking of you and wishing you were here will not suffice.

Words just can't express the pain that I feel over losing you;

I wish your absence was only a horrible dream,
but each passing day, I must deal with the fact that it's true.

I can't turn back the hands of time or complete things that I wish I could do;

If you were here, I would ask you what remedy will keep me from feeling so blue.

I wonder why life is so short and why time goes by so fast;

I wonder why when a loved one dies; you can only reminisce about the past.

I remember everything you've taught me and all of the times we've spent together;

Mommy, I can't wait to see you again and I'll always love you, FOREVER…

Now That She's Gone

Even though I can't say our relationship was close,
She is the one person that I miss the most,
Now that she's gone.

I feel as if I'm all alone, on my own,
Now that she's gone.

I can no longer hear her laugh, or her voice
on the other end of the phone,
Now that she's gone.

I even miss her lectures when I've done
something wrong.
Now that she's gone.

I miss her advice, which made me think twice
before I made a decision;
I miss the tone she purposely used when she
wanted me to really pay attention,
Now that she's gone.

I miss her motherly love, which is
the best thing from God above
and now she's gone.
